01 General
1.1 Project Background
SCOTECH manufactured 4 units of the 2500 kVA pad mounted transformer in 2024. The primary voltage of the transformer is 24.94/14.4 kV, while the secondary voltage is 0.6Y/0.347 kV, they formed a vector group of YNyn0. The characteristic of the pad mounted transformer is that the structure of the high-voltage side load switch and the ring switch are comprehensively simplified and immersed in the same tank with the transformer, so the volume is greatly reduced and the cost is correspondingly reduced; Another feature is the use of double fuse protection, fuse with current, temperature double sensitive characteristics, protection sensitivity and reliability are greatly improved. The fully sealed and fully insulated properties of the pad mounted transformer make the installation quick and simple, and can avoid the pain of long-term maintenance.

02 Manufacturing
2.1 Core
The iron core used as a transformer is generally 0.35mm cold rolled silicon steel sheet, which is cut into a long shape sheet according to the size of the required iron core, and then folded into a "日" shape or "口" shape. In principle, in order to reduce the eddy current, the thinner the thickness of the silicon steel sheet, the narrower the splicing strip, the better the effect. This not only reduces eddy current loss, reduces temperature rise, but also saves the amount of silicon steel sheet. But in fact, when making silicon steel sheet iron core, it is not only from the above favorable factors, because the production of the iron core will greatly increase the working time and reduce the effective cross-section of the iron core. Therefore, when making transformer core with silicon steel sheet, it is necessary to choose the best size from the specific situation and weigh the advantages and disadvantages. In general, the reason why the transformer chooses silicon steel sheet is mainly for the consideration of reducing the volume of the transformer and reducing the loss.

2.2 Winding

Foil winding consists of parallel foil sheets, usually made of copper or aluminum. These foils are spaced apart and interleaved to form the structure of the winding. This design makes the foil winding can better heat dissipation when subjected to high current, but also reduces the resistance and inductance of the winding, and improves the electrical performance of the winding. The biggest feature of foil winding is that it is rolled on a special winding machine, which has a high℃of automation and provides high productivity and product quality. The turn, that is, the interlayer and longitudinal capacitance is large, the spiral Angle is eliminated, the short-circuit impact resistance is relatively strong, the mechanical strength is high, the construction is convenient, the axial and radial errors are small, the geometric size is easy to ensure, the turn is relatively tight, not easy to have bubbles, and the surface is smooth. The foil winding can also reduce the partial discharge and improve the insulation performance of the winding.
2.3 Tank
Our company uses high-quality stainless steel as the raw material for the production of fuel tanks, and uses hydraulic machinery or other forming equipment to bend, cut and press the steel plate into the desired shape of the fuel tank. Butt the components and perform gas shielded welding or other welding processes to ensure the tightness and structural strength of the tank. All seals are sealed at the end limit; The metal parts inside and outside the box are rounded to remove hair, and the weld seam and seal are tested for three times (fluorescence, positive pressure, negative pressure leakage test); The paint is made according to the standard anti-rust requirements.

2.4 Final Assembly

We produce this kind of American box variable structure is divided into front and back two parts; In front of the wiring cabinet, the wiring cabinet includes high and low voltage terminals, load switch, no-load pressure regulating tap changer, plug-in fuse, pressure release valve, oil temperature gauge, oil level gauge, oil injection hole, oil release valve; The rear is the oil filling box and heat sink, transformer winding and iron core, high voltage load switch and protection fuse are in the oil filling box.
03 Testing
Insulation test: including insulation resistance test, dielectric strength test of insulation oil, partial discharge test, etc., to ensure that the insulation system meets the standard requirements.
Load loss and no-load loss test: Test the loss of the transformer under load and no-load conditions to ensure that its performance meets the requirements.
Flame retardant test: Test the flame retardant properties of transformer oil and insulation materials to ensure their safety performance.
Short-circuit test: test the short-circuit current capacity and thermal stability of the equipment.
Cooling system test: Check the working condition of the cooling system to ensure that it can effectively cool the transformer.
Sound level testing: Testing the operational noise level of equipment to ensure that it meets environmental noise emission standards.
Anti-corrosion testing: Anti-corrosion testing of the casing and external coating of the transformer to ensure its durability and stability.
